Assistant Conductor and Coach: Brass/Woodwind/ Percussion
Michael Brennan is a graduate of Rutgers University – Mason Gross School of the Arts (New Brunswick, NJ) where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Mr. Brennan studied trumpet with David Krauss (Principal Trumpet, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra NYC). He also had the opportunity to study with Robert Early (Philadelphia Orchestra Trumpet Section) and Matthew Muckey (Acting Principal Trumpet, New York Philharmonic Orchestra) during chamber music rehearsals and master classes.
As a performer at Mason Gross, Mr. Brennan has performed with the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra, Rutgers Wind Ensemble and Rutgers University Jazz Band. Mr. Brennan has also performed with the Imperial Brass Band and currently performs with the Eastern Wind Symphony. Mr. Brennan has also had the opportunity to collaborate with various renowned musicians in performance such as Allen Vizzutti, Alan Baer (Principal Tuba, NY Philharmonic), Conrad Herwig, Dan Miller (Harry Connick Jr. Big Band), Ralph Bowen, Tanya Darby, Don Braden, Warren Vache, and Joe Magnarelli. Mr. Brennan is currently a music teacher at Montgomery High School and shares the responsibility of the band and orchestra program.
Mr. Brennan is also the assistant director of the MHS Marching Band and head director of the MHS Stage Band (jazz ensemble) and the MHS Basketball Band.
