Christopher Beckett

Concert Orchestra and Preparatory Strings Christopher Beckett graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education from Rutgers University – Mason Gross School of the Arts, having studied both violin with Lenuta Ciulei (first prize winner of the Paganini International Violin Competition) and viola with CJ Chang (principal violist of The Philadelphia Orchestra). Mr. Beckett was one of two winners of the Mason Gross Concerto Competition in 2013, which awarded him the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Rutgers Sinfonia. Mr. Beckett has also won many chamber competitions while at Mason Gross and performed as a soloist with the All-City Orchestra in New York City. Mr. Beckett has collaborated with various renowned musicians such as Paquito D’rivera, Ilmar Gavilan (Harlem Quartet), Philippe Quint, and Jay-Z as well as performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Blue Note.
