Intermediate String Audition Requirements

Please prepare all (three scales and solo work) of the following components:

• Scales:
  • Violins:
    
    • G scale three (3) octaves: using separate bows  (optional: once through using slurred four notes to a bow.)
    • Bb scale: using separate bows over three (3)octaves
    • A scale over two (2) octaves using separate bows
  • ​Cellos/Violas
    
    • ​C scale three (3) octaves
      
    • D scale three (3) octaves
      
    • C minor scale two (2) octaves 
      
• One solo work of your choice, between two (2) and four (4) minutes in length. Select a piece that demonstrates your technical ability as well as your musicality.
