The Matteo Giammario Concerto Competition
Applications for GPYO’s Matteo Giammario Concerto Competition will open on November 10. You must be a member in good standing (no more than three absences this semester) of either Symphonic Orchestra, the Flute Ensemble, or Concert Orchestra, and be in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade.
Grand Prize: Solo Performance accompanied by GPYO’s Symphonic Orchestra in GPYO’s Spring Concert at Princeton University’s Richardson Hall
Finalists: Recital performance and reception with other finalists.

- Partial scholarship to PIMF 2026 ($1,200 - $1,800)
- Over $20,000 in scholarship discounts will be awarded, including one full tuition scholarship to PIMF 2026

- One movement of a concerto of choice must be submitted with each entry
- Performances may be accompanied or unaccompanied
- Video submission required. Audio-only submissions will not be accepted

We’re excited to share that the International Young Artist Concerto Competition deadline has been extended to November 23, 2025 11:59PM CST.
IYACC competitors gain exposure and recognition from leading performing artists and professors at elite colleges and conservatories.
ABOUT IYACC
The International Young Artist Concerto Competition is open to students internationally, 18 years of age or younger. Applicants are invited to submit one movement of a concerto on any instrument. Any concerto may be selected, as long as the orchestra parts are available on IMSLP.
Sixteen competitors will be selected to move to the semi-final round. Competitors that move to the semi-final and final rounds will be invited to perform with a professional orchestra in January, 2026. Four competitors will proceed to the final round with one ultimate winner.
NEW THIS YEAR!: IYACC will introduce a 12 & Under division, alongside the 18 & Under division providing four younger students an opportunity to compete for a chance to perform with a chamber orchestra in the final round. Competitors 12 & Under can choose to apply in either division but will only be considered for the division they apply to.

National Youth Ensembles
Each summer, Carnegie Hall’s national youth ensembles bring together the brightest young American instrumentalists for training and performances on some of the world’s greatest stages. All three programs are free and led by an all-star faculty of professional musicians, giving students the opportunity to hone their talents. As national ensembles, these programs include a broad range of musicians from across the country that reflect the exceptional talent and diversity of the United States.
