Joshua Becker
Assistant Conductor and Coach: Brass/Woodwind/ Percussion
Joshua Becker is a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University, New Brunswick), receiving both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education. While at Rutgers, Mr. Becker studied clarinet with George Jones, Andy Lamy (NJSO), and Vadim Lando. Mr. Becker came to East Brunswick School District in 2002, first teaching as an elementary band director and moving to the middle school full time in 2004. His bands have received highest honors at both the CJMEA and NJMEA Middle School Band Festivals. Mr. Becker was also the EBHS Marching Band Director for 10 years, the director of the EBHS Winter Percussion Program for 2 years (2006 TOB Chapter 10 Champions), and manager of the Elementary District Orchestras. He also accompanies many of the district ensembles, playing percussion, drum set, saxophone, and bass guitar. Outside of school, Mr. Becker has conducted the CJMEA Elementary Honor Band (2016) and has worked with the CJMEA Intermediate Orchestra. When not teaching, Mr. Becker enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children. |
