2020-2021 Virtual Programming

​During the 2020 - 2021 season, we put a new twist on the ensemble programming that has been the heart and soul of the GPYO for 60 years.

We formed two chamber orchestras for mixed strings, winds and brass: the Blue Ensemble and the Red Ensemble. These ensembles gathered virtually in Monday evening sectional rehearsals from March 2020 through June 2021. These sectionals provided our musicians with the opportunity to learn symphonic repertoire together and receive individualized feedback.

We also implemented our new programs: a juried Virtual Artists Showcase with prizes awarded to outstanding players… and a small-group Performance Workshop program designed to support all of our musicians as individual performers and as peer-musicians.
