Membership in the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra is by audition only. If you are interested in joining GPYO, please visit our Auditions webpage for the most current information.
Important things to be aware of before you register:
School music curriculum program participation:
GPYO requires all students who attends a school that offers a music curriculum program, to participate in one of the music curriculum program – orchestra, band or choir. The only exceptions to this are:
Saxophone players:
Saxophone is an option only for GPYO Chamber Winds Ensemble. Students who are accepted after an audition on Saxophone can join the Chamber Winds Ensemble, but may move up to the Concert or Symphonic Orchestras at the discretion of the artistic staff.
GPYO tuition for full-year participation is:
Preparatory Strings Ensemble $550
Camerata Strings Ensemble $650
Chamber Winds Ensemble $650
Concert Orchestra $750
Symphonic Orchestra $850
Tuition for students admitted to GPYO for the Spring 2024 Semester is:
Preparatory Strings Ensemble $300
Camerata Strings Ensemble $350
Chamber Winds Ensemble $350
Concert Orchestra $400
Symphonic Orchestra. $450
Method of payments are credit cards and electronic checks.
Paper checks are not accepted.

Parents have the option to pay the tuition in installments. Our payment plan allows you to pay in three installments:

Westminster Discount:
Students enrolled in programs at both GPYO and Westminster Conservatory are offered a 10% discount on tuition at each institution . To benefit from this offer, a student must be enrolled in one of the GPYO’s four ensembles and in at least one program of the Westminster Conservatory of Music, including private lessons, music theory, chamber music and Honors Music Program during the school year.
If you are a current Westminster Conservatory student, please complete the "Westminster Partnership Eligibility" section of the registration forms accurately. We will verify enrollment with Westminster upon receipt of registration.
Sibling discounts: If siblings are registered at the same time, $25 credit for each student is automatically applied during the registration.
Financial aid:
Limited financial aid is available to families in need of financial assistance to pay the tuition. The Financial Aid form should be sent to Executive Director at [email protected]. Financial aid for students requesting aid after the deadline will vary each year, depending on the amount available at that time. Parents who wish to apply for financial aid should do so as soon as possible. If aid is granted, you will receive a code to be applied during registration, or before the last installment of the payment plan.

- Student attends a school that doesn’t offer any music program
- Student’s school does not offer an ensemble music program for student’s grade level

- 25% deposit at the time of registration. The balance will be charged automatically in installments.
- Tuition paid is not refundable after the first two rehearsals. If the student withdraws before or after first rehearsal, the refund should be requested in writing, with the reason for withdrawal.

Westminster Discount:
