She was a student of Kevin Willois from the Westminster Conservatory. Heidi heads to Princeton University to pursue an astrophysics degree.
Thanks go out to all of the great student musicians from this inaugural Matteo Giammario ConcertoCompetition.
2021-2022 GPYO Concerto Competition Winners
Both Elise and Nikhil are members of our Symphonic Orchestra, and long-time GPYO members. We look forward to to our Spring Concert when Elise will be performing the third movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 26, and Nikhil will be performing the third movement of the Mozart Horn Concerto No. 2 in E-flat Major, K. 417. The concert is currently planned for June 12, 2022 at Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium. Stay tuned for details.
We are grateful to Judith Morse and Sung-won Hwang who served as competition judges on January 23. Both of these fine performer-educators serve on the faculties of the Westminster Conservatory of Music and Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Thanks to all of the musicians who competed in the GPYO ConcertoCompetition in January. We encourage all GPYO students to keep developing their skills both as soloists and as ensemble players, and we are already looking forward to hearing next year’s competitors!
