In-Person Rehearsals and COVID-19 Safety
GPYO will be rehearsing in-person starting on Monday, September 13. We will be implementing measures to ensure COVID safety during our rehearsals. Read more about our COVID protocols and guidelines here.
GPYO-Westminster Conservatory Partnership
![]() GPYO has joined forces with Westminster Conservatory of Music to increase opportunities for our members to learn and perform music! We look forward to collaborating with their talented and experienced faculty and staff! Beginning this fall, musicians enrolled in both programs are eligible for a 10% tuition discount on programs at both institutions. Read more here. Introducing New Music Director Jessica Morel
![]() The Board and staff of the GPYO are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jessica Morel to our community as our next Music Director. She brings passion, energy, and experience that we know will engage our musicians, families and audiences.
She comes to GPYO after two seasons leading the Youth Philharmonic of the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestras Program and three seasons as the Music Director of the Winston-Salem Symphony Youth Orchestras Program, which saw significant growth under her leadership. What Do I Need For The First Rehearsal?
We look forward to seeing everyone on September 13!
Be ready for our first rehearsal with all of the necessary supplies. All GPYO members must bring their own music stand to every rehearsal. Woodwind and brass students must have specialized masks and bell covers. Check out our Rehearsals Page for more information. Audition for GPYO!
