Joseph Capone is a non-profit professional with over twenty years of experience in public and higher education and the cultural sector. His dedication to youth, education and music runs throughout his rich and varied professional life. He began his career as a music teacher in the School District of Lancaster (PA), teaching 6th – 9th grade general music, choral music, strings and theater. After completing graduate work at Westminster Choir College, he served as its Assistant Director of Admissions and Associate Director of Alumni Relations. Since then, he has pursued a career as a nonprofit manager and fundraising professional. He has served in leadership positions at the Philadelphia Opera Company, Bristol Riverside Theater and the Princeton Festival. Joe’s time as Executive Director of the Friends of Washington Crossing Park (PA) produced a significant expansion of programming and growth in visitorship, not long after the park was forced to shut down in 2009. Joe holds a BS in Music Education from West Chester University, cum laude and a MM in Voice Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College, with distinction. He pursued additional training at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and at the Victoria College for the Arts/University of Melbourne (Australia). Joe sang several seasons with the opera chorus at the Philadelphia Opera in addition to numerous other professional orchestras and choruses. Joe maintains an active business as a licensed NJ real estate agent with Weichert Realtors-Princeton.
