Justin Way is a freelance trumpet player and arts administrator currently residing in Philadelphia. Justin currently serves as the Operations Manager for the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra and as a consultant for the science and arts advocacy and performance non-profit, KV 265. As a performer he has appeared with the Helena Symphony, Columbus (Georgia) Symphony, and Tallahassee Symphony. He can also be heard on the music for the film Cordelia by Tunde Kelani as well as on an album featuring the music of Mark Haggerty and his work United Sounds of America released under the Delos label. Justin holds degrees from the University of Delaware where he completed his master’s degree in trumpet performance under the direction of Mark Clodfelter and from Florida State University where he completed his bachelor's degree under the instruction of Dr. Christopher Moore. Justin’s other primary teachers have been Dr. Peter Wood and Dr. Thomas Miller. At the University of Delaware, Justin was recruited to be one of two trumpets for the inaugural graduate brass ensemble in residence program with the brass quintet, Blue Diamond Brass. As an educator, Justin has presented educational recitals and clinics as both a soloist and as part of the Blue Diamond Brass. These include guest recitals, clinics, and masterclasses at numerous high schools and middle schools across the northeast, as well as Delaware State University, Indiana University at Pennsylvania, and the University of Delaware.
